Israel’s only competitor in the Australian Open Men’s Tennis championship has been knocked out in the first round.

Dudi Sela lost in four sets to Ukrainian Ivan Sengeyev 6-3, 7-6, 4-6, 7-6 at Melbourne Park.

Israel’s remaining hope in the  singles champiosnhips is 22-yr-old Shahar Peer who is expected to make her first appearance in the tournament tomorrow.

The Australians for Palestine Group has made it clear they intend demonstrating against her participation as she is playing.
