Rivlin meeting goes smoothly

Twenty pro-Palestinian protestors ranted “Shame” as Reuven Rivlin, the Speaker of the Knesset, spoke to 250 members of Auckland;s Jewish community last night.

Stephen Goodman, president of the Auckland Jewish Council, told J-Wire: “The protestors had minor altercations with the police who remained magnificently and efficiently controlled the scene outside the Gray’s Aveny synagogue.”

Rivlin was reciprocating a visit to the Knesset last year by the Speaker of New Zealand’s parliament.

Goodman added: “An excellent event enjoyed by all who attendeded.  The disruption attempted by the protestors was kept to a minimum by the Police and there was no interference with those wishing to attend the function.
