President Biden visits Yad Vashem: VIDEO

President Joe Biden has visited Yad Vashem and has laid a wreath at the spot where the ashes of victims are interred.

President Isaac Herzog, Prime Minister Yair Lapid and Defence Minister Benny Gantz Wednesday afternoon joined US President Joe Biden in his visit to the Yad Vashem Holocaust memorial and museum in Jerusalem. The President traveled there directly from Ben Gurion International Airport where he landed Wednesday afternoon.

Yad Vashem Chairman Dani Dayan and Yad Vashem Council Chairman Rabbi Israel Meir Lau accompanied the visit.

A memorial ceremony was held in the Hall of Remembrance, after which the President met with two Holocaust survivors – Rena Quint and Dr. Gita Cycowicz.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan and US Special Envoy to Monitor and Combat Antisemitism Ambassador Deborah Lipstadt accompanied the visit.
