Israel is feeling the heat in more ways than one.

It is facing a soaring increase of international irrationality, which is causing tempers to flare and is fanning the fires of hate.

It now seems that an onslaught of climatic variety is about to hit the country.

The pleasant weather of recent days is expected to give way to a severe and prolonged heatwave starting this Friday, with Israel bracing for what could be one of the most intense and enduring bouts of extreme heat in nearly 100 years.

Forecasts currently indicate that Jerusalem could see temperatures around 40°C, with the Jordan Valley likely reaching at least 48°C. Even along the coast, where it won’t be quite as hot, the combination of extreme temperatures with high humidity will make for extremely uncomfortable conditions across the coastal plain and lowlands.
