The NSW Jewish community has raised over $500,000 to assist victims of the catastrophic NSW bushfires.

The funds have been raised in a month-long crowdfunding campaign organised jointly by the NSW Jewish Board of Deputies and Stand Up which ended on Friday.
NSW Jewish Board of Deputies president Lesli Berger said: “The Jewish community is proud to have put up its hand to help our fellow-Australians in a meaningful way as a practical response to the horrendous bushfires.
We acknowledge all those who have generously supported our campaign, and we hope these funds will help ease the burden of some of those who have lost so much. We are currently in active discussion regarding where to disburse the funds so as to achieve the maximum benefit.”
Stand Up CEO Jo Silver added: “Stand Up is so grateful to the Australian Jewish community for its incredible support for victims of the NSW bushfires through our joint appeal with the NSW Jewish Board of Deputies.  We are humbled to have been able to assist in this campaign and provide a collective response. For 25 years, Stand Up has raised funds for many worthwhile causes through the generosity of the Jewish community.”
