New CEO for NZ Holocaust Centre

Chris Harris has been appointed the new CEO of the Holocaust Centre of New Zealand based in Wellington.

“Chris has held the position of HCNZ’s National Director of Education for the past two years, and his appointment as CEO recognises the significant contribution he has made to our organisation in that time”, said HCNZ Chair, Jeremy Smith.

Chris has an extensive background in the New Zealand education and disability sectors.

Jeremy Smith added: “Chris will work closely with myself and the Board in implementing HCNZ’s future strategy, especially our ongoing commitment to Holocaust education, HCNZ’s human rights and social justice initiatives, and our major touring exhibitions – the Children’s Holocaust Memorial and the Anne Frank: Let MeBe Myself – throughout New Zealand.

The appointment of a CEO recognises the expanding range of activities and services provided by HCNZ and our ongoing evolution as a national organisation”, concluded Mr Smith.”

Chris Harris’s appointment will take place on March 1.
