According to a report in The Australian Sheik Omar Abdel Kafi has also denounced “Jews and Christians in social media posts and sermons”.

He told his audiences that Muslims had played no part in 9/11 and the Charlie Hebdo. massacre.

The Research Director of The Executive Council of Australian Jewry Julie Nathan told J-Wire: “It is of great concern whenever visitors to Australia make statements that import ugly foreign prejudices into our community and sow hatred.  Such prejudices, whether they are expressed by extremists of the political right or left, or by religious extremists of any religion, have no place in our country. Australian authorities need to be more vigilant about granting visas to people who have a record of making such statements.

Sheikh Omar Abdul Kafi has called Jews “filth” and “monkeys and pigs” and prayed for their humiliation and destruction.  He has expressed support for the murderous attacks on people at the World Trade Centre in New York in September 2001 and against the workers at Charlie Hebdo in Paris in 2015, and mocked the victims.

These statements of religious bigotry and hatred against people simply because they are Jews or Christians is beyond the pale of human decency.”
