Sydney’s Montefiore Homes’ 2015 Spirit of Volunteering recognition function has been held at both the Randwick and Hunters Hill locations.

Volunteers were recognised for their dedication and contribution to Montefiore 7, 10 and 14 years’ service awards were recognised with 43 volunteers receiving the Spirit of Volunteering in the special awards categories.

Highlights included a warm thank you from President, David Freeman to volunteers for contributing over 32,000 hours for the year. The keynote address titled, Montefiore’s future plans, was delivered by CEO, Robert Orie who also thanked the volunteers for their ‘significant contribution’ and emphasised how they really do make a difference to the wellbeing of our residents. “The level of volunteer support is unrivalled and something to be very proud of,” said Robert.

An Ode to the Volunteers was written and delivered by a Randwick resident, Helen Zwarenstein. Talented volunteers, Norm Lurie and Samantha Coates provided  entertainment.
