Sydney’s JewishCare and Karitane have announced their partnership following meetings with JewishCare CEO Gary Groves and Karitane CEO Grainne O’Loughlin to discuss how best a new maternal health partnership could be developed.

Opportunistically two months later, during the recent rains, Karitane’s terrace property at Randwick sustained significant water damage they urgently required alternate office/clinical space for their team of child and family health nurses, clinical psychologists, and administrative staff.

The JewishCare Board agreed to support Karitane in temporarily relocating their team to JewishCare’s Saber Street facility during the repairs at their Randwick premises.

The new partnership mean that JewishCare will be able to refer directly to the parenting programs, and it’s a real opportunity for the Jewish community and JewishCare’s Child and Family Support Team to work with one another – the first step in a more enduring partnership.

Gary Groves said: “We encourage our community members who need support with their young families to reach out – as parents you don’t have to do it on your own.  Karitane have a range of services available to assist.”
