Is this Australasia’s largest etrog?
For ten years entertainer and educator Uncle Velvel has been tending the etrog tree in his Bondi and this Sukkot his patience borne special fruit with a giant etrog.

Uncle Velvel, who is occasionally called by his real name Willie Lederman, said: “During Pesach I noticed a dark green bud forming on the tree.”



Four times the size of a regular etrog
With great care, he tended to the holy fruit and by Rosh Hashana, it was huge and weighed in at 1241 grams.



On the scales
He added: “Hashem has given me this gift so I can perform the mitzva of Arba minim and allow others to as well. To fully grasp the size of this special etrog it doesn’t even fit into my two hands.”
