IDF Training has been set up to teach people of all ages how to defend themselves against physical attacks including those which involve knives or sticks.

More than 200 people recently attended the organisation’s open day at which head instructor Benji Szafran demonstrated the self-defence method.

Created in Bratislava in the 1930a, Krav Maga was further developed by the IDF and is now in use by some of the best-known law enforcement agencies in the world including the NYPD, SWAT, the FBI, the U.S. Secret Service and the U.S. Marines.

IDF Training chief Avraham Yemini said: “It is about defending yourself against all forms of violence. These tactics could save your life in the event of an attack. Everyone can learn how to defend themselves, including women and children.”

Rabbi Daniel Rabin of Melbourne’s Chabad on Campus joined Yemeni in attaching a mezzuzah to the the door of IDF’s new training facility  on Hawthorn Rd, Caulfield.
