Elections closed at the Board’s monthly plenum on Tuesday night, with 99 nominations for 75 positions to be elected as  a General Franchise deputy.

In addition, there has been unprecedented interest from young adults, with 30 nominating under the age of 30…including university students.

NSW Jewish Board of Deputies CEO Vic Alhadeff: “The response from across the community has been extremely gratifying. It’s an indication that there is increasing awareness of the importance of the work the Board is doing, and of the imperative to get involved at the coalface.”

The election will be conducted as a postal ballot, with the results to be announced at the November 16 plenum.
