Parliament has passed a motion of condolence with Israel to encourage the Australian Government to continue supporting Israel and the Australian Jewish community in its quest to engineer the safe and swift return of the more than 200 hostages (both Israelis and foreign nationals) being held in Gaza.

It was a sombre reminder of the unprecedented attack by terrorist organisation Hamas on Saturday, 7th October, in what has come to be known as the darkest day for the Jewish people since the Holocaust.
