Adelaide’s Rabbi Yossi Engel and his wife Chana will have to wait for 2010 to answer allegations in court regarding 39 charges of dishonest dealings. The Rabbi and Rebbitzen have been accused of setting up a Jewish school in the South Australian capital reaping them $50,000 in government grants.

Their lawyer, Ron Bellman, told a court hearing this week: “This case has been in gestation for three years. My client is a rabbi and has been humiliated.”

The Engels first court appearance was in July this year. They are currently awaiting information from SA police about the allegations and the matter has been adjourned to January next year.
