AJA condemns Argentinian decision to cancel football game in Israel
AJA has condemned the decision by Argentina to abruptly cancel the scheduled pre World Cup match of their national football team against Israel which was due to be played on 9 June in Jerusalem due to the threats made against their captain and the world’s best football player, Leonel Messi.
Israel had guaranteed the safety of the Argentine team. The match was a sell-out. AJA believes that the Argentine decision is wrong as it is a submission to the intolerance and violence promoted by the Palestine Football Association which had openly incited their Arab fans across the Middle East to burn Messi’s image and shirts or worse, after singling out Leonel Messi as the target of their campaign of hatred.
Argentina has the 5th largest Jewish population in the world with over 230,000 Jews in the country who are no strangers to Jihadist terrorism. In 1992, Hezbollah blew up the Israeli Embassy in Buenos Aires where 30 people were murdered. In 1994, Jihadist terrorists blew up the largest Jewish community centre and 86 people were murdered. These were the worst terrorist attacks in that country’s history.
“No society should ever succumb to Islamic terrorism” says David Adler, President of AJA. “The Argentine decision will only embolden thejihadists to continue targeting the normal functioning of Israeli society.”
AJA states it encourages an immediate reversal of the decision of the Argentine FA for the match with Israel to go ahead as scheduled. Appeasing jihadist terrorism only incites more violence and more disruption and additionally will never assist peaceful outcomes.
FIFA does not usually allow overtly obvious political interference in its schedule of football games. And this Palestinian effort has been overtly obvious. So that raises a question mark. The Palestinians are purveyors of vile poison, of hatred to excess; they themselves will be consumed by the bitterness they keep so actively alive in their attempts to incite world hatred for Israel. It’s all they care about. It’s more important to them than their own children.
The Israelis love and admire the Argentinian Football team; it’s a great shame they will not be playing them in Jerusalem, it would have been a wonderful occasion. Messi and his team mates should not have been put off by Palestinian burning and melodramatic threats. Israel’s security would have been more than up to the occasion.
Sadly they’re political pawns and deep down knew Israel’s security was more than adequate and shouldn’t taken to heart.
Let’s see what Providence play’s out Liat……
The Argentine Football Federation cancelled the game with Israel’s team… on the land of Jerusalem, as a result of the efforts of the Palestinians with the assistance of regional and international federations.
There’s the contributing reason.
Why should you be surprised…..
