Aliza Shuvaly runs Aliza’s Place Cafe in the Melbourne suburb of Chadstone arrived at work yesterday to find the words “The Holocaust is a lie” along with a swastika scrawled on her back fence.

Aliza told J-Wire said that she had not ever been targeted before and that there had been like this in the neighbourhood.

Aliza received a lot of support from the community, “The hardest thing was to tell my mother in law who was in tears. She apologised to me. She has suffered and she is saying sorry to me.”

As a Jewish lady what has happened makes me stronger. Nothing can stop us. We need to talk about this all over the world, I know that I am doing this for the ones who are no longer with us.”

Aliza’s aim is to spread love in the world. Hate won’t get us anywhere. “Our mission is to spread love and light in the world.”

A German customer came in this morning and said that she did not even know it was a Jewish business and has been coming there for over 4 years.

The CEO of Monash council came in and said: “you are not alone, we are behind you.”

Aliza has received lots of community and local support including hugs and flowers.

“If I had covered up the swastika and not reported it, they probably would have done it again.” She has reported it to the council and it has been cleaned up.

“I took the risk by reporting it. I wanted to say that Australia is not a place for violence. We are all equal and we will not tolerate this.”

Dr Dvir Abramovich, Chairman of the Anti-Defamation Commission was contacted by the victim and said: “Another day, another sickening attack on the Jewish community and on the memory of the Holocaust.  Sadly, antisemitism is becoming all too common, and I am outraged by this evil act which is a painful reminder of the threat we are facing. We need to make sure that we do not reach the point where Jews in Victoria will not feel safe walking the streets or in their businesses, yet the recent surge in hate and white-supremacists activity in our state, which is hitting an all-time high, is causing many to feel this way.

These bigoted thugs and their cowardly attempts at intimidation must not go unchallenged,  and I  hope that in the days ahead, the community as a whole will stand together and raise its voice in condemning this heartbreaking incident. I also hope that those responsible for this crime will be dealt with to the full extent of the law.”

I went to Caulfield Central in 1962.
The desks in my classroom were full of Swastikas carved into them!!!
No-one ever did anything about them.
There were 3 of a Nazi’s grandchildren in my class.
Two of them threatened me once

I know I’m likely preaching to the choir but here goes’
Fact; During ALL of the various “War Crimes Trials”, including the commandants of Auschwitz and two of the three Einzatzgruppen, Not a single defendant, NOT A ONE. ever used as a defense the “Final Solution” never happened! They made excuses, “I was only following orders”! “It wasn’t me”! One of the Einzatzgruppe commanders even boasted how many Jews his group killed! So my friends, that’s how you respond. There is even a movie “Never Forget” produced and directed by Leonard Nimoy about a law suit of a denier by a Holocaust survivor. Part of the judges rulling was exactly that NOT A SINGLE ONE of those tried as war criminals ever used as a defense “It Never Happened!”
