In Wellington, Ran Yaakoby has settled in as Israel’s ambassador-elect to New Zealand.

Ambassador-elect Yaakoby will also represent Israel in the Cook Islands, Samoa, and Tonga.
He is joined by his wife Debora and their two children.
Ambassador Yaakoby has taken over the posting from Dr Itzhak Gerberg following his four years’ tenure.
In a novel approach, the new ambassador took to Facebook to introduce himself to New Zeaalanders.
He will present his credentials to New Zealand’s Governor-General Patsy Reddy on February 2nd.
