Women walk for peace in silent show of unity
More than 1,000 women and supporters gathered on Sunday to walk side by side in a powerful demonstration of peace and solidarity.

At the organisers’ request, there were no banners, flags, or slogans. Instead, participants dressed in white — a quiet symbol of respect for those suffering amid global conflicts, and a tribute to women around the world calling for an end to war, oppression, and injustice.
The event, held in unity with Mothers Call for Peace, invited participants to reflect collectively on the human cost of conflict. “No mother wants her child to kill or be killed,” one speaker said, capturing the spirit of the occasion.
Organised by an independent group of women from diverse backgrounds, the Women’s Walk for Peace was described as unaffiliated with any political or religious movement. Its message was simple but resonant: compassion, connection, and hope for a more peaceful future.
“What unites us here is a shared desire for coexistence and a belief that peace is possible for everyone,” one organiser said, adding that the group hoped to walk together again soon.
