‘Shame!’: Danon slams UN for denying Hamas sex crimes after freed hostage reveals assault

Danny Danon, Israel’s representative to the United Nations, on Sunday slammed the world body for denying Hamas’s sex crimes after freed hostage Guy Gilboa-Dalal revealed the abuse he suffered in Gaza.

“The courageous and painful testimony of Guy Galboa-Dalal exposes the shocking sexual violence he experienced during Hamas captivity,” Danon tweeted in Hebrew.

“But at the U.N., there are still delusional people like Reem Alsalem, the special rapporteur on sexual violence in conflict, who dares to continue denying the sexual assaults committed by Hamas terrorists on Oct. 7,” Jerusalem’s representative wrote. “Such denial is contempt for the victims and a serious violation of their rights. Shame!”

In an interview that aired on Saturday evening, Gilboa-Dalal exposed the severe sexual abuse he endured at the hands of the terrorist organization.

“The terrorists guarding me were mentally unstable. They could be fine for a while and then suddenly become extremely cruel. One of them asked me: ‘You want to film a porn movie?’” the freed hostage told Channel 12 News.

The Hamas terrorist guard then “started touching me, kissing my back, my neck and my throat,” Gilboa-Dalal continued. “He told me he loved me. It was extremely uncomfortable. At some point his hand stopped on my chest. My heart was pounding. He asked: ‘Are you scared?’ He took me aside and threatened that if I ever told anyone he would kill me,” he recalled.

“In another incident he took me, pulled down his pants. I told him: ‘This is forbidden in Islam.’ He then rubbed his genitals against my rectum for several minutes,” he said.

Recalling his kidnapping from the Nova music festival during Hamas’s Oct. 7, 2023, massacre, Gilboa-Dalal said: “Bullets were whistling past me, hitting the ground. I don’t know how nothing struck me. I started running to the bushes with Evyatar [David]. All I could think was: F***, I’m going to die now.

“Suddenly a terrorist pointed a rifle at my head. One of them dragged me to a car and forced me onto my knees. I was sure they were going to execute me. I said to myself: At least I will die quickly. Then they threw Elkana Bohbot and Bar Kupershtein inside, and then I saw Evyatar.”

The Hamas terrorists then paraded the four hostages around Gaza City, shouting “Jewish pigs,” he said. “We were forbidden to talk to each other or even look at one another. The beginning was horrific. I cried all day.”

Israeli President Isaac Herzog expressed his support for Gilboa-Dalal following the interview, stating on X: “His willingness to speak on camera, expose his wounds, and articulate the incomprehensible cruelty to which he was subjected was an act of extraordinary bravery.

“The world must hear his shocking testimony, recognize that Hamas terrorists committed horrific sexual violence, and understand that the systematic and sustained sexual violence that began on October 7 continued thereafter.

“Guy, you are teaching us a vital lesson. You are shedding light on the terrible darkness of the tunnels so that the world can understand what really happened there. You are a young man carrying a horrific burden that no one should bear.”
