In a rare move, the Palestinian Journalists Syndicate strongly condemned the assault on several journalists by Hamas security forces near Nasser Hospital in Khan Yunis, southern Gaza.

Victims included Khaled Shaat, Canaan News Agency, Hayat Radio, Mohamed Salama (Al Jazeera cameraman), and Abdullah Al-Attar (Anadolu Agency).

The syndicate, which is affiliated with the Palestinian Authority, condemned these actions as “a flagrant violation of press freedom and threatens the safety of journalists.” The announcement included a photo of one of three journalists showing injuries on his arm.

The Fatah-dominated organisation, which represents Palestinian journalists, infrequently criticised media restrictions in the Palestinian Authority or Gaza.

It’s interesting that the rest of the world doesn’t seem to care. No reportage. If it were Israel involved in any way, journalists around the world and their unions would be jumping up and down hysterically.
