New Israeli Naval Air Defence System Used for First Time, Downs Eight UAVs

Overnight, the Israel Navy’s missile ship flotilla intercepted eight unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs/drones) launched from Iran, using operationally, for the first time, the Barak Magen air defense system and the long-range interceptor LRAD (long-range acoustic device).
The interceptor, which is installed on the Saar 6 missile ships, is capable of dealing with a wide range of threats, including unmanned aerial vehicles, cruise missiles, steep-track threats, coastal missiles, and more.
Since the beginning of the “Operation Rising Lion” to destroy Iran’s nuclear capabilities, it has intercepted approximately 25 UAVs that posed a threat to the citizens of the State of Israel.

Ukrainians Killed in Bat Yam Came to Israel for Medical Treatment
Five of the civilians killed yesterday after a rocket hit a building in Bat Yam in central Israel were citizens of Ukraine. Their names have not yet been disclosed.
Friends of one of the families killed in the strike told TPS-IL that they had come to Israel to seek medical treatment for a child with cancer.
At least seven people were killed in the strike, three of them children.
Six Killed, 166 Wounded in Overnight Iranian Missile Attacks
It has been confirmed that six people were killed and 166 wounded in Iranian missile strikes overnight in Gush Dan (the greater Tel Aviv area) and the Lowlands (southwest of Jerusalem), six were seriously wounded, 22 were moderately wounded and 138 lightly wounded.
MDA (Magen David Adom) paramedics on the scene of the attacks declared the deaths of three women aged 80, 60 and 50, a young man aged 20, a boy aged 10 and a girl aged 8 whose bodies were uncovered in the rubble of a building in Bat Yam that was struck by a missile.
Amid the Outbreak of War, Two Israelis Arrested for Spying for Iran
At the outbreak of the Israel-Iran war, two Israelis were last night arrested and interrogated on suspicion of spying.
A joint statement from the Police and Shin Bet said: “Amid a war with Iran – Shin Bet operatives and Yamam (special police unit) fighters arrested two Jewish Israeli citizens on suspicion of carrying out tasks for the Iranians in recent days.
“In a joint operation…two…were arrested last night (June 15) for questioning…on suspicion of committing a security offense under the direction of Iranian intelligence elements.
“This case adds to 22 incidents thwarted by the Shin Bet and the Israel Police since the beginning of the war, indicating the repeated efforts of Iranian intelligence agencies to recruit Israeli citizens to carry out missions intended to harm the security of the State of Israel and its residents.”
A Shin Bet source said: “It is emphasized that such actions constitute a serious violation of the law. All security bodies and law enforcement agencies will act decisively to bring all involved in such activity to justice.”
