The visit comes at the invitation of Australia’s Governor-General, Prime Minister, and the Australian Jewish community.

Herzog will be joined by a delegation from Israel’s national institutions, including World Zionist Organisation Chairman Yaakov Hagoel and Jewish Agency Chairman Maj.-Gen. (res.) Doron Almog.

During the five-day trip, the President plans to visit Jewish communities throughout Australia to demonstrate solidarity following the attack. He will meet with families who lost loved ones in the incident, as well as survivors and their relatives.

The President will also receive briefings on efforts by the Jewish Agency and World Zionist Organisation to support Australian Jewish communities, particularly amid what officials describe as rising antisemitism. Meetings with senior Australian Jewish leadership are also planned.

Herzog’s itinerary includes official engagements with top Australian officials, including the Governor-General and Prime Minister, along with representatives from various political parties. Media interviews are scheduled throughout the visit.

The trip is expected to conclude on Thursday, February 12, 2026.

The Zionist Federation of Australia welcomed the upcoming visit.
As part of the President’s official program, together with key community partners, the ZFA will host major Jewish community events in both Sydney and Melbourne, bringing together the entire Jewish community and allies to formally welcome the President to mark the importance of this State Visit.
ZFA President Jeremy Leibler said the visit represents a moment of unity, connection and reaffirmation of the strong bonds between the two nations and their communities.
He said: “The Australian Jewish community is honoured to welcome President Herzog at a moment of deep significance. This State visit affirms the strong bonds between Australia and Israel and offers an important opportunity for the community to gather in unity, resilience and shared purpose.”
