Finally, the Hakoah Club is on its way
Today, the Australian workforce is downing tools for the Christmas/New Year break.

But when work starts again in the new year, activity on Hakoah’s building site at Sydney’s White City will ramp up following the signing of the construction agreement with the club’s new builders.
President Steven Lowy said today that Richard Crooks Constructions is targeting around Passover 2027 for opening the club.
In a letter to members and donors, Steven Lowy wrote: “Before the events of October 7, we believed that creating the new Hakoah Club as a place of safety where we could come together in sport, culture and celebration was very important for the sustainability of Jewish life in Sydney. After October 7, it became essential.
Now, in the wake of Bondi, the need is critical. Now more than ever, we are committed to creating a place where we can safely come together and strengthen Jewish life and community, a place of joy and happiness that we will share with those in the broader community who believe in our Australian values of respect, mateship, common decency, family, community and helping.
We continue to mourn the loss of the 15 souls at Bondi and pray for the speedy recovery of everyone affected by the horrific event. We will honour their memory by strengthening Jewish life and our community.”
Steven Lowy paid tribute to CSG, CHS, and Hatzolah, as well as the NSW Police, Ambulance Service, Life Savers, and the public for their heroism and service to our community and the support from the broader community.
