Applications are invited for the position of Personal Assistant to the Executive Director of the Executive Council of Australian Jewry. Responsibilities include: providing administrative support for the Executive Director and Office Bearers; digital dictaphone typing of submissions, correspondence and other documents; receptionist duties; data base maintenance; maintaining filing systems; organising meetings and functions; liaising with other organisations and individuals; carrying out research as directed; assisting with the all aspects of production of an e-news letter; and assisting the Executive Director, auditor and book-keeper with accounts and legislative compliance.

The successful candidate will have a demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to the Australian Jewish community and a basic understanding of the major issues of concern to it; personal integrity; initiative; research ability; internet skills; good computer skills including Word and Excel; an ability to prepare documents from instructions given via a digital dictating system; excellent organisational skills; ability to communicate; a professional phone manner; and an eye for detail.
