Jewish comedians are turning to comedy and storytelling with a special show in Sydney to lift spirits as the community continues to grapple with the fallout of the October 7 attacks.

The collective behind Tribe of Chutzpah says the upcoming show will bring together comedians and storytellers who have weathered a difficult year, including some who have faced doxxing. Their aim is to create a connection, offer relief and remind people that shared laughter can still cut through a heavy time.

The group’s last outing, a sold-out show at Bnei Brith in July, drew an enthusiastic crowd looking for something light. Plans are already under way for Tribe of Chutzpah to present the Jewish Showcase at next year’s Sydney Comedy Festival, with selected acts expected to tour interstate.

The Tribe of Chutzpah Comedy and Storytelling Night will take place on 26 November at Roseville Cinema from 7.30pm to 9.00pm. Tickets are $35 through Humanitix. Inquiries can be sent to [email protected].
