At 11pm on New Year’s Eve, Sydney paused for a powerful minute’s silence for the victims of the Bondi terror attack.

Following a letter from more than 30 of Australia’s most high-profile Jewish creatives, the City of Sydney agreed to project an image of a menorah on the pylons of the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

The millions watching at home may have missed the image of a menorah being projected onto the bridge pylons. Dozens of people on social media have expressed their disappointment that the menorah was not shown on the ABC coverage nor mentioned in the commentary, which was a co-production with the City of Sydney.

Ironically, commercial networks such as Channel 9 included a mention and clear image of the menorah in their subsequent news coverage.

JWire has approached the ABC for comment.

Exactly. Where was the ABC?!! I strained and strained my eyes looking for that menorah … to no avail. I’m about to write to them about it. Shame on them. Clover Moore got her way in the end, methinks.

  3. Let’s face it, ABC and Albanese & Co are anti semitic.

Sooner both are cleaned up, ABC by reform, Albanese by being voted out, the better for Australia.

Why would you be surprised, same behaviour as for the last two years
