TV duo receive two Logies nominations

Sydney-based Mint Pictures, run by Dan Goldberg and Adam Kay, has received two nominations for the Logies.

The pair have been nominated for  ‘Brilliant Creatures’ in the Most Outstanding Factual Series category and ‘Bushwhacked!’ for the Most Outstanding Children’s Program.

‘Brilliant Creatures’, a two-part prime-time series written and presented by Booker Prize winner Howard Jacobson, followed the meteoric rise of four of Australia’s greatest cultural exports: Germaine Greer, Clive James, Barry Humphries and the late Robert Hughes. It was screened last year on ABC1 and BBC4 to critical acclaim, and was nominated for an AACTA award.
It will compete with ‘Changing Minds’, ‘Coast Australia’, ‘First Contact’ and ‘The War That Changed Us’ for the Logie.

‘Bushwhacked!’ (series 2) follows Kayne Tremills and Kamil Ellis as they take on another 13 dangerous and deadly missions in some of Australia’s most remote regions.

The smash hit ABC3 series, which has been nominated for a slew of national and international awards and won the Best Children’s Series at the 2014 Asian TV Awards, is screened is over 40 countries worldwide.
It is up against ‘Nowhere Boys’, ‘Move It Mob Style’, ‘Tashi’ and ‘The Worst Year of My Life, Again’.
While the TV Week audience vote for the most popular categories, the most outstanding categories are voted upon by industry judges.

The Logies are to be held in Melbourne on May 3.
