Thank you, Michael Kuttner, for your usual succinct account of the situation. It’s mind-blowing. We are up against a wall of chosen distortion and refusal to see the simple, binding facts put by you, put by David Singer, and others … We know the reason for it.

Yirmiyahu Natan blithely generalises to the point where what he has to say is meaningless, although destructive within that context.

We will not be moved by this groundswell of false rhetoric. We shall abide now and into the future.

I was just wondering how old he is - if he is under 20 he is heavily influenced by lefties teaches at school and Uni, if he is older than 40 he is just ignorant and lazy socialist. This kind of people will never ever change their minds or attitudes and will never ever open their minds to different opinions. They will shut you up with calling abusive names, but for me it is OK because coming from the former USSR Where I have been called all kinds of names I became just indifferent to this abuse and my sensitivity does not suffer. I do not give a damp.

Mr Natan, I’m afraid that I cannot commend you on knowledge of the facts or on reasonableness.
If a muezzin uses loudspeakers to amplify his message needlessly and deliberately to such a volume as to cause loss of amenity to his Jewish neighbours, then the municipal authorities have the duty to provide remedies, just as they would in many other countries.

The mythical “occupation” to which you refer can easily be refuted by a study of The Mandate for Palestine, 1922; Article 80 of the United Nations Charter; Security Council Resolutions 242 and 338.

As for your characterisation of some as “extremist,” it’s obvious that one man’s
extremist is another’s “moderate” supplicant for what is rightfully his, but part of which he is prepared to forfeit for the sake of peace.

The quasi-religious mantra, “two-state solution,” is actually a proposed ‘two-state EXPERIMENT;”
you cannot know with certainty that it would be a solution, and the Palestinians certainly say that it would not be a solution. Their conduct imparts credibility to their rhetoric.
Do you happen to know how many times since day one they have flagrantly violated the Oslo Accords that were supposed to advance “the peace process?

And finally, it is not by any means a virtue to feign objectivity by baselessly indicting one’s own people when they are making valiant efforts to act decently in the face of the aggression of a merciless, relentless, implacable foe.

While Mr. Kuttner is to be commended for his enthusiasm, his list contains one glaring omission. There can be no doubt that of all the places in which decisions facilitating or encouraging terror have been made, Jerusalem must surely enjoy a place of prominence.
Laws banning the muezzin, legitimizing settlements in territories under military control and law, and a complete lack of inclination to advance the two-state solution that the Prime Minister has publicly advocated have all spoken volumes for the fact that Netanyahu stands at the head of a coalition of extremist politicians who have hijacked his government.
Michael – Let’s focus on ourselves before spreading blame to all corners of the globe
