Vic Alhadeff this week joined the Executive Council of Australian Jewry as a part-time consultant.

Vic Alhadeff

He stepped down from the NSW Jewish Board of Deputies last month after serving as its CEO for 16 years and is also now consulting to the JBD.

“I am very pleased to be in a position to also offer my services to the ECAJ,” Vic Alhadeff said. “As the national representative body of the Australian Jewish community, it has the carriage of many key issues which are of vital importance to the well-being of our community nationwide, and my aim is to assist in those endeavours to the best of my ability and do whatever I can to strengthen the community nationally. The ECAJ has an extremely impressive leadership at its helm, and I am honoured to join this team.”

Welcoming the appointment, ECAJ co-CEO Peter Wertheim said: “We are delighted that Vic will be joining us.  He has a long and distinguished record of service to the Jewish community, and his talents are needed now more than ever.  Our strong team will only grow stronger with Vic joining us”.

Alhadeff is a former editor of the Australian Jewish News.
