Melbourne’s United Jewish Education Board has declared it does not discriminate against students, parents, teachers, or other members of staff on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity.

In a statement UJEB’s Executive Principal Itzik Sztokman said: “UJEB is the sole provider of Jewish education before school and at lunchtimes in Victorian State schools. Students from 20 different State primary schools and four State secondary schools attend UJEB’s programs each week.

Our programming options range from after-school centres to camps, from trips to Israel, to intensive Hebrew languages programs. These offerings give our students a sense of belonging, connection, and understanding about what it means to be an active and participatory Australian Jew living in current day Melbourne.

“UJEB is passionate about inclusion. We see this as core to our organisational identity and are proud of our work with Jewish students from a range of backgrounds.”
