Nobody is arguing the issues of ethical importance within the Jewish fold raised here by Dr. Michael Meyer of Tzedek.
In his current piece, however, Tzedek not only contradict themselves, but cast spurious allusions upon the entire Australian Jewish community. While mentioning that ECAJ has come out strongly in upholding our values, community at large is also charged by Tzedek to the contrary by stating with such arrogant audacity that they. Tzedek, ” …cannot yet be fully confident” that the Jewish community, its leadership structures have done enough to alleviate the known failures in protecting children in the trust of our educational institutions. Tzedek carry on that they have ” misgivings about the community’s commitment to change”.
Offensive to the extreme.
Tzedek would be far more efficient if not so sententious and, just as important, will lower their vindictive authoritarian moralistic tone in their attacks against all and sundry within our communal structure.
Most of us do not need to consult Dr. Michael Meyer on how to ordain our Jewish ethics, as there have been very strong attitudes within the entire Jewish community against those relatively very few incidents of child abuse in some Jewish educational institutions.
