					<description><![CDATA[Michael, I agree absolutely with what you say about Purim. It is my least favourite Jewish &#039;festival&#039; for precisely the reasons you outline. I&#039;m sure I shall be thought of as being a party-pooper or a nerd in saying that I find what we have come to do in celebration of this event superficial, even nonsensical. I don&#039;t partake in it in that way for that reason.

Please, let there be a good, hard look at Purim and new ways found to make it salient in purposeful form, while we celebrate the purpose and courage of Esther and Mordechai. We could even extend our thoughts to Vashti, who had the dignity and courage to refuse the King his vulgar request.]]></description>
