The response by the ECAJ was exemplary and importantly, entirely factual.
Unfortunately, there is a disease spreading particularly within the Labour Party and Greens which seeks to follow a narrative promoted by Bob Carr aimed at pressuring Israel into submitting to a unilaterally declared Palestinian state whilst at the same time ignoring the ongoing acts of terror promoted by the Palestinian leadership against Israelis. Lisa Singh, is simply embracing this notion , picking and choosing themes that support her ideology.
Messrs Wertheim and Block are correct in stating that her comments are less than helpful in resolving a long standing conflict.

A cogent, passionate letter, with all the necessary facts and context for full understanding of Jewish belonging to the land of Israel, and the position we find ourselves in now. So well done, Peter Wertheim and Anton Block. It’s exactly what’s needed, succinct expression with underlying anger. And, yes, it should be a template to be used again and again in an effort to fight the ongoing ignorance of people like Lisa Singh. Please send it to Bob Carr.

By and large a thorough and comprehensive statement about Jewish rights to a state and the enemy Israelis face.

It is a great shame that this forcefulness is absent from the public statements on the ALP conference’s mooted Palestinian recognition motions in the AJN.

Some comment on what comprises a people would assist, as Jews qualify and “Palestinians” don’t. Israel’s eastern border on the Jordan and its right to Judea and Samaria (see Levy Report) would be good. Pointing out the Arab suppression of Berbers and Kurds would highlight the hypocrisy of Singh and her ilk.

Congratulations on an insightful record of factual events in Israel.
The lady who is so sympathetic with the “Palestinian” cause is typical of the uninformed and ‘luny left’. “Don’t confuse me with facts .. my mind is already made up!!”
There are muslim votes in this for these silly people, but the rest of us have to live with the consequences of their stupidity.

The Jewish people believe they have a right to return to the Holy Land as it for a core of their Faith and they were expelled in masse by the Imperial Roman Empire from the year 70 of the Common Era and had been prevented from returning as a nation till the League of Nations gave Britain the Mandate to allow a Jewish Homeland in the empty spaces of the ancient Holy Land in 1920 .
Tragically the Arab people’s refused the principle of the sharing of the Holy Land .
They violently rejected Jewish return with murders of Jews and riots and refused to allow Jewish escape from Nazi occupied Europe not only to the British Mandated Holy Land but even all Islamic Lands including Turkey that bordered with Romania and was close to Hungary Greece Yugoslavia and Poland .
In 1492 Islam was different far more humanitarian and the Turkish Sultan sent ships to rescue Jews expelled from Spain .
Therefore the Jewish people in the Holy Land have been forced to take up arms to defend their people and these are the reasons for the Security Walls and Security Checkpoints .
