Support for victims as Malka Leifer’s court proceedings start on Monday.
The Jewish Community Council of Victoria, Tzedek and VoiCSA are express their support for Nicole Meyer, Dassi Erlich and Elly Sapper, and all of the alleged victims/survivors of Malka Leifer ahead of the committal hearing starting on Monday.

In a joint statement, the organisations have commented: “We admire the courage and determination of these sisters and hope that they find comfort in knowing that they have the full support of their community as their long journey towards justice progresses.
We call on the leadership of the Adass Israel School to provide an unequivocal public apology to the sisters and any other former students who may have been sexually abused as children while in their care.
We condemn the actions of those who assisted Leifer to flee from Australia to Israel and to the extent that any crimes may have been committed in enabling her escape, we expect that those involved will be met with the full force of the law.
We understand that this may be a difficult time for all victims/survivors of child sexual abuse and our thoughts are with them. Please reach out for support.
The Jewish community is committed to protecting its children from the scourge of child sexual abuse and supporting victims/survivors in their healing and in their pursuit of justice and accountability.”
Hopefully those complicit in attempting to evade justice by sending Leifer overseas will soon be prosecuted.
