An EMERGENCY MEETING is to be held at Sydney’s South Head Synagogue this evening to discuss the Shule’s finances and to explore ways to keep the Shule open.

A group of members has requested that this notice be published.

On behalf of the South Head Congregation we are calling an EMERGENCY MEETING to discuss the Shule’s finances and to explore ways to keep the Shule open.

If you care about the future of the Synagogue then we implore you and your family to be at the meeting.

The Meeting will be held at South Head Synagogue at 730pm tonight.

We have asked Mr Simon Johnson partner of Corrs Chambers Westgarth to chair the meeting. This meeting will solely discuss the financial position of the Shule and what is required to keep it functioning so that we can work our way through the Administration process.

It is proposed any issues concerning the Rabbi’s position can be dealt with by a mediation process which can occur in the coming weeks.

With respect to the anonymous ” South Head Member ” (i thought you are not able to comment without divulging your name) my husband was at the meeting and counted 70 people , not all of whom were members. About 20% of those in attendance were regular shul goers.

  2. Ron Burdo says:

Where is Chabad Australia in all this mess? Their silence is roaming.

  3. Judy Maynard says:

With respect, Mr Cohen, you do not speak on behalf of the South Head Congregation. You speak on behalf of the Rabbi.
