Completely. Thank you for your timely words and for sharing your family history, the latter of which I read with anguish. Your parents were so brave in circumstances unimaginable to anyone who has not experienced them.
Personally, I am not a fan of New Year’s Eve celebrations, mostly, I think, for what seems to be a largely superficial happiness that’s required to enjoy them and an enjoyment that does not take count of anything but that moment. The Scots differ with this, where their song for it is a poem from the past by Robbie Burns which does embrace the past as it looks to the future. So, it is somewhat more reflective with a touch of melancholy. All the best to you for 2026.
