On New Year’s Eve, the Jewish House’s CEO Rabbi Mendel Kastel was the “pastor in charge” at the St Vincent’s emergency ward.  Fortunately, there were no Jewish patients to attend to on that night, but his night was not wasted.  There was a Catholic lady who was dying and needed some spiritual input. There was no priest around at the time, and she was happy for Rabbi Kastel to pray for her despite his not being Catholic.  It seems that the onset of death is a great equaliser.

So true, so true; what a pity this concept is not understood by many.
It is only when one has been quickened by the spirit and dealt with the dying that one becomes aware of Gods neutrality and that at the end, the spirit gives life and the letter muddles.
A certitude one can’t pass on or explain.
