Letting ben eleijah make the unsubstantiated claims he made without a response is not in my DNA. These anonymous purveyors of hate need to be answered every time they rear their ugly heads. His post was a tissue of lies. Note he has not responded. If he does – I will reply.

I’m writing this to you and hopefully all other contributors will note the sentiments.

While you and I certainly differ strongly with each other on various issues and are not shy of saying so, please do us all a favour and don’t bother responding to anything Ben Eleijah posts.

By his outbursts to virtually each and every posting he is obviously a clear cut anti-semitic /anti Israeli propagandist (do your own survey, don’t just take my word for it). No one should indulge him with a reply to ANYTHING he writes, as it is a total waste of time and effort.

Best to let him write his garbage and leave him to “piss in the wind” so to speak. The likes of him has no place amongst us.

Not lawyers tricks at play – merely stating what the law is.

The ICJ decision was an advisory opinion only and not binding as provided by the Court’s own rules – a decision that was made by the ICJ on the basis of a brief presented to the Court by UN Secretary General Kofi Annan that contained no mention of the Mandate for Palestine and article 80 of the UN ‘s own Charter.

Some would call that a kangaroo court.

If the decision did have binding effect it would have been arguable that the full facts were not before the Court and that the decision had no application to the West Bank and East Jerusalem because the specific provisions of the Mandate and article 80 were never properly considered by the Court.

Yes – you correctly describe the way the General Assembly and Security Council work . That is the law.

If the law is unfair one should work to change it.

In the meantime respect for the rule of law should prevail – at least in democratic societies.

Seems as though you do not accept that principle.
