11,685 people have joined Pastor Nigel Woodley in urging the New Zealand Government to cease from pressuring the State of Israel to give up its rightful and God-given Land.

The petition also urges the Government to support Israel’s right to have sovereignty over the entire Land of Israel, including Judea and Samaria (West bank) and all of Jerusalem.

The petition was in response to moves and indications from NZ Foreign Affairs that it favours a Two-State Solution which would mean a division of the Holy Land of Israel including

Jerusalem. The petitioners believe that any division of the Land which is brought about by the persuasion of the International Community will invoke the judging hand of God on such nations—Joel 3: 1—2.

The petition, strongly supported by Pastor Woodley’s home Church—the Flaxmere Christian Fellowship in Hastings, was presented to the House of Representatives on Wednesday  before a full house of Parliamentarians, including the Prime Minister and many key members of Government. The petition will now go before a Select Committee.

  1. Rabbi Chaim Ingram says:

Dear Leon, very surprised that you are playing semantics and failing to endorse my main point. You know me quite well enough to be acaquainted with my views on this matter and that they do not differ from yours. You will note that the word to which you took offence is in parentheses and is there only in order that there should be no confusion as to what I mean when I say the Land of Israel.

  2. Leon Poddebsky says:

I would add, again with respect to Rabbi Ingram, that the enemy allege that Israel’s ambition is expansionist, and they frequently resort to using the term, “Greater Israel” as a propaganda term; worse still, many of them compare this with nazi Germany’s quest for “lebensraum,” or ” Greater Germany.”

  3. Leon Poddebsky says:

With respect to Rabbi Ingram, my view is that there is an entire, complete Land of Israel, which we call Eretz Yisrael.
Its minimal extent, which secular international law endorsed and acknowledged in 1922, stretched from the Mediterranean Sea to the Jordan River (though, as a consequence of British imperial machinations, the eastern part of The Land, beyond the Jordan, was handed on a silver platter to foreign interlopers from the Hedjaz.)

I am, therefore puzzled by the expression, ” …the (Greater) Land of Israel.”
An entirety is an absolute. How can there be a greater or a lesser?
I would add that the Jewish People / Zionist movement was prepared to share sovereignty in the Land as a generous compromise for the sake of peace, but the enemy has consistently refused to recognise Jewish national rights.

  4. Rabbi Chaim Ingram says:

Great that 11,865 Christians are upholding our G-D given right to the (Greater) Land of Israel. Now all we need is for a few thousand prominent Jews to say the same thing!
