Arguments on these issues should only be settled in the Knesset and in the Courts - not by tearing the country apart in holding mass demonstrations on the streets or by threats made by politicians and even judges who are showing no respect for the institutions in a democracy that have been established precisely to deal with handling controversial policies and disagreements in relation to those policies.

Debate them freely in the Knesset - but accept the Knesset vote. Attack their legality in the Courts - but accept their decisions.

Mass demonstrations achieve nothing but a fracturing of the country which Israel at this particular time of continuing threats to its very existence needs like a "loch in kop"

Ultimately there will be an election within four years or earlier when the public will have their say at the ballot box and those changes will be confirmed or can be scrapped.

President Herzog should be supported in his efforts "to create wide-reaching, attentive and respectful discussion and dialogue”.

Clogging Tel Aviv on Motzei Shabbat is not the answer.
