Name reading kits for Yom Hashoah
The NSW Jewish Board of Deputies is launching a new initiative for Holocaust remembrance distributing name reading kits for Yom HaShoah.
The kit includes a memorial candle, a card with the details of a Holocaust victim and a prayer to honour the six million victims of the Holocaust. 1600 candles have kindly been donated by Woolworths Double Bay and Bondi Junction.
The kits are planned to be donated to senior students at the following Jewish day schools: Moriah College, Emanuel School, Masada College and Kesser Torah College. Kits will also be distributed to 100 students from the NSW Board of Jewish Education (BJE). We have also made contact with various synagogues to serve as pick up points for community members.
This is an initiative of the Chair of the JBD’s Shoah Commemoration Committee, Danny Hochberg.
