Fairfax is totally obsessed with Israel that there can be no doubt, the amount of pages over the year allocated for Israel bashing is out of all proportion to what the average joblo cares, why is another matter.

Fairfax and McGeogh are whitewashing an avowed terrorist who boasts that he will never recognize the right of a member state of the UN to exist and who boasts of having targetted and murdered civilians.

So much for Fairfax!!! – anything that sells newspapers gets published. Especially if it’s anti-Israeli.

Thus, by whitewashing terrorists and giving them a voice, Fairfax is not only showing their colours, but acting as a propaganda tool.

This can only delay meaningful negotiations and prolong the suffering of Arabs and Jews alike.

Khaled Meshal is Paul McGeough’s speciality, his ‘baby’, due to McGeough’s book and his predilections. You could sense the excitement, only just contained, infiltrating many of the lines in his lengthy reportage on Meshal last weekend. He wants to believe what he would have us believe, and he’s almost willing it to happen. It’s the stuff of fantasies. Balance and professionalism doesn’t come into it, even though the man can write. As to Fairfax, it suits their agenda.

Thank you for your excellent article. How can McGeough and Fairfax Media, who claim to be progressive, and in pursue of justice and human rights, advocate for Hamas which is clearly a reactionary, Islamist organisation, an offshoot of Muslim Brotherhood, that runs an oppressive, undemocratic, theocratic regime in Gaza?

The latest important news from Gaza: “UN Cancels Gaza Marathon over Hamas Ban on Women (AP-Times of Israel) UNRWA, the UN aid agency which assists Palestinian refugees, announced on Tuesday that it has cancelled plans for a marathon in Gaza in April, following a ban on women runners imposed by Hamas.”

Why Fairfax Media has not reported on this latest disgraceful news about oppression of woman and human rights violation in Gaza? And what has McGeough got to say about that? Their silence on this matter is indicative of their hypocrisy and double standards.

The Age articles, photos and glorification of Meshal and Hamas were sickening. No mention this week of further rocket attacks into Israel. It seems The Age is happy to condone these terrorists living in luxury in other countries. McGeough is a disgrace to journalism – where is the balance.
