*In an interview with Israel Radio this week, Natan Sharansky, chairman of The Jewish Agency for Israel, said the Reform response to Trump’s Jerusalem recognition was “terrible.”

“Everything that comes out of Trump is bad, from [the Reform movement’s] perspective,” Sharansky said. “When the leader of a superpower recognizes Jerusalem, first you have to welcome it, then offer disagreement. Here it was the opposite.”

Look, God spoke to Balaam out of the mouth of a donkey why not just leave it at that.......

I wonder what Rabbi Rick Jacobs has in mind with his reference to 'a comprehensive plan for the peace process'? Nothing in particular, probably. The peace plan for a two-State solution never got off the ground because the Palestinians don't want it, have never wanted it, never will want it; they've rejected it five times when the opportunity arose to secure it. They want their State IN PLACE of the State of Israel. So, in truth the whole Israel/Palestinian issue needs a shake-up and Rabbi Jacobs and the rest of the world need to start confronting reality instead of mindlessly waffling on about a peace that simply is not envisaged by the Palestinian people.

The decision by the Trump administration to recognise Jerusalem as Israel's capital at the very least pushes to the fore the reality that has existed for seventy years. That Jacobs considers that decision 'ill-timed' shows just another ignorant voice on the matter. He is as obviously deluded as the Europeans and the UN frothing at the mouth for Israel's ultimate demise (for that's what their euphemisms relate to) , albeit his delusion would paint a different scenario: two peaceful countries sitting side by side at last. Fantasy land.

How extraordinarily unhelpful so many of these American Progressive Jews are, and just at a time when Israel has the world baying for its blood. One can only assume they have no idea of the use enemies of Israel make of their well-intended but injurious declarations. Most certainly, the ABC television coverage of the issue was pleased to use film clips of female American Progressive Rabbis saying the same as Rick Jacobs. Perhaps they should meet directly with Ismail Hanieyah or Saeb Ekret or even Mahmoud Abbas, and have a bit of a chat, spend a bit of time on the streets of Gaza or parts of the West Bank, conversing with the protesters ... that might allow a different perspective.
