Announcing the honour on behalf of the Board of the MSO, Helen Silver highlighted Jeanne Pratt’s outstanding support of the Orchestra.

Helen Silver said: “We are very grateful to Jeanne Pratt and the Pratt Foundation for their exceptional contribution to the MSO’s reputation and growth.

Over many years, The Pratt Foundation has underpinned significant projects for the MSO: including our 2014 tour to Europe with Sir Andrew Davis, and the gift of three years’ seed funding to establish our popular MUSO program.

A Life Membership is our way of saying thank you.”

Accepting the award, Jeanne Pratt said: “It’s so special to receive this wonderful honour from the MSO – a great orchestra that makes great music!”

“For a self-confessed lover of Melbourne, it doesn’t get much better,” added Jeanne Pratt.

The MSO’s Life Membership program acknowledges patrons whose commitment and involvement with the Orchestra is exceptional.  Jeanne Pratt  joins other Life Members Lady Primrose Potter, Marc Besen and Eva Besen and Sir Elton John.  Over the years the late Ila Vanrenen, the late John Brockman  and the late Alan Goldberg  QC have also been honoured.

Dear Jeanne Pratt…she doesn’t need my plaudits and would have no idea who I am but she gets them anyway for more reasons than one.
