J-Wire and the Liberal Party

Almost every day for the week up to Rosh Hashanah, J-Wire received messages from Australia’s political parties, both federal and state.

However, no message has been received from the new Liberal leadership although many texts and emails have been sent requesting one.

Regrettably we did not receive a single response.

Very strange given that a by-election will be held in the former prime minister’s electorate of Wentworth.

A very substantial percentage of Sydney’s Jewish community resides within its borders.

This is the first time in our experience that the Liberal Party’s leadership has not sent a message to Australia’s Jewish community on Rosh Hashanah.

Just bears out perception, that Liberal Party now in its own echo chamber, & more interested in itself than others.

  2. David Adler says:

Interesting observation. Wonder if the new Liberal Party deputy leader is aware.

    • Adrian Jackson says:

Political parties have bigger things on their plate, like the Wagga Wagga by-election last Saturday, than sending greeting for every religions holiday be they for Judaism, Islam, Christianity, Hinduism, Buddhism and all the others religions like the Zoroastrians and beliefs like the Druids, spiritualists, nature worshipers, Summer solstice paganism etc.

Also Australia is a secular country were 30%, and growing, of Australians do not follow any religion.
