ABC’s promotion for the program states:”Tamar, a former academic, was a leader of 2011’s social justice protests in Israel and a member of Tel Aviv’s city council before entering the Knesset for the Meretz party in 2013.

She is a long-time social and feminist activist, passionately advocating for human rights, sustainable urban planning and transport, affordable housing, religious pluralism, women rights and the legalisation of cannabis.”

Other panellists will be Samantha Power, Former US Ambassador to the United Nations, Tanya Plibersek, Shadow Minister for Education, Greg Sheridan, Foreign Editor, The Australian and James Brown, United States Studies Centre.

The program will be screened at 9:35pm.

Wikipedia defines Meretz:

Meretz defines itself as a left-wing, social-democratic party. It sees itself as the political representative of the Israeli Peace movement in the Knesset – as well as municipal councils and other local political bodies.

In addition to being a full member of Socialist International and the Progressive Alliance, it has participated in Global Greens conferences.

In the international media, Meretz has been described as left-wing, far-left, social-democratic, dovish, secular, civil libertarian and anti-occupation.

Tamar Zandberg is a highly intelligent woman who is capable of in depth and comprehensive discussion. However, her continued belief in the possibility of peace through ‘talking’ with those who aren’t interested in anything except full control and the demise of Israel as a Jewish State, is naive and flies in the face of reality. This is written after her appearance on Q&A. Of course, Q&A are happy to have an Israeli of this kind, to the extreme left, on the panel – it’s their raison d’etre. Thank G-d for Greg Sheridan.

    “Wikipedia defines Meretz”

That’s some quality journalism right there.

  3. Robert Weil says:

She ticks all the boxes for Q&A. Radical, feminist, Green, socialist, self-hating Jewess and cannabis advocate. Greg Sheridan is indeed a brave man to appear with that lot.

  4. Adrian Jackson says:

I watch Q&A every week and love it. Lots of variety of ideas that make you think. Thankfully we have the excellent ABC in Australia.

    • David Schulberg says:

@Adrian, I suppose you especially liked the recent episode with an all-women panel of feminist hotheads that featured journalist Mona Eltahawy using abusive language and encouraging violence.
Even your ‘excellent’ ABC thought this episode warranted an enquiry.
