The description of Edelstein’s conduct as dignified and upholding democracy is entirely misplaced. His conduct in closing down the Knesset because the right wing bloc did not have the numbers to control the election of Knesset committees was an appalling attack on democracy in Israel. in a time of national crisis he and his colleagues behaved like a petulant children, throwing all the toys out of the sandbox instead of sharing them because they weren’t allowed to rewrite the rules of the game.
