UIA has announced that one of the most well-known and much-loved Israeli artists, Idan Raichel will entertain supporters at its 2020 Gala events in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth in February, as UIA celebrates 100 years of supporting the People of Israel.

Idan Raichel

Israeli singer-songwriter and musician, Raichel is considered to be one of the most prominent and successful musical artists In Israel, and among the most well-known Israeli artists abroad.

Raichel’s style has Middle Eastern influences but also draws on Latin American and African music. While the majority of his songs are in Hebrew, a few are entirely in Amharic.

Raichel is performing exclusively for UIA’s events in Australia and will be the only chance for supporters to hear him live during his visit.

“It is an absolute honour to be able to offer the community one of Israel’s leading cultural figures and musicians. It is fitting to have somebody of Idan Raichel’s stature celebrating our 100th anniversary with us across the UIA family in Australia. The UIA events will be the only chance the community has to hear Idan in Australia and we strongly encourage people to book ASAP to avoid missing out,” UIA CEO Yair Miller said.

President of the State of Israel, His Excellency President Reuven Rivlin will be Guest of Honour at UIA NSW and UIA VIC Gala events.

Israeli politician, diplomat and lawyer, Tzipi Livni will be the headline speaker at UIA WA’s Gala Dinner.

Events will sell out and seating is limited. To book for the 2020 Gala Events in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth, visit uiaaustralia.org.au/our-events
