I don't believe that Arabs or the none existing race of "Palestinians" have the right to have a say in the Israeli Government and should be happy they have the right to vote. The fact they have the right to vote is democratic in it self yet they sit in the Knesset. Do Israeli people have sitting members in Arab nation Governments or the so called "Palestinian" Government? Do they have the right to have members in Parliament in Jordan, Syria, Iraq, Iran, Egypt, Gaza,Turkey in any of the Arab/Muslim Nations where they are a minority? Israeli, Christians, Westerners are in fact being murdered, beheaded, decapitated, burnt alive, buried alive, raped, sold into slavery gunned down in Muslim nations and kidnapped and stabbed to death inside there own homes within Israel itself and other countries. Again you people are doing more harm then good in supporting people who have no other intentions then to harm those who are not Muslim or to eradicate the Jewish people and their Country. If they are so unhappy living in Israelor any non Muslim country why don't they leave. My wish is for all Muslims to get the hell out of Biblical Israel, take their damned Dome of the Rock and mosques with them. Muslims are a problem WORLD WIDE and I'm sick of people making excuses for them. Muslims are not a MINORITY they have taken over in every country and hold everyone to ransom. If there is only a handful of so called terrorists within their realms....why don't and can't they eradicate them from their midst? As for "Fairness", Look at the UN, there are more Arab nations on there than Westerners, hardly fair voting. Jordan only came into existence in 1950 I believe. Where the hell is Palestine? It is and always will be Samaria and Judea. I am not a bigot nor am I racist in any way but the Muslims are a world wide problem and it's going to get worse. Now we can't call terrorist terrorist, they are now referred to as Militants... thereby legitimizing them as "military" to a legitimate country "Palestine" etc or ideologists. Let the truth be told they are nothing less then murderers. I no doubt have offended a large number of Muslims who consider themselves a "Peaceful" Religion, sorry your Koran is filled with killing the "Infidel" Your Mosques preach killing. Truth is Mindi Katz you and your mates are just as bad as those who commit these crimes in my opinion. And to all those peace loving Arabs, Persians, Syrians, Iranians, Iraqis, African, Turk's God bless you one and all.

Mandy Katz is spot on. Here is an Israeli PM who does not hesitate to engage in blatant racism and prejudice against Israeli Arabs, even on election day itself. He has stooped to lowest common denominator politics. It is extraordinarily disappointing that the ADC, which supposedly works against prejudice, has wholeheartedly jumped to support his reelection, without qualifying their support or commenting on such politics. That the B’nai B’rith ANZ has jumped in with the ADC is just as disappointing.

What will these organisations have to say in coming weeks and months as a flood of invective is delivered against new MKs from the Joint List, or a raft of anti-democratic legislation is floated?

There are very challenging times ahead for the relationship between the Jewish majority and the Israeli Palestinian or Arab minority. And of course, in coming years that minority is going to grow. Coupled with the fact that the Occupation is going to continue --50 years coming up--and that Palestinians in the Occupied Territories have no vote and live under military law, Israel's limited democracy is under incredible challenges. The likes of Netanyahu and his allies to the right--who express their contempt for Arabs--do nothing to make me feel confident for the future of a multicultural democracy in Israel or for a future of the Occupied Territories that is other than a Bantustan for Palestinians.

This statement is very disappointing. The ADC in its mission statement emphasises that it has a role to play as follows: " we need to challenge prejudice whenever it occurs, whether it is directed at Jews or at other minorities.". Netanyahu fought a tough campaign and electoral politics don't bring out the best in people. But his campaign stepped over a line in the address in which he portrayed voter participation of the Arab minority as a dangerous phenomenon. This comment is simply unacceptable in a democracy. Netanyahu may have been a campaigner but he is also the Prime Minister of all Israelis including Israeli Arabs and it is distressing that he questioned in any way their right to vote.

If the leader of any democracy in which Jews live spoke about the Jewish minority (or any ethnic minority) of that country in this way, the ADC would be rightfully appalled. I respectfully ask the ADC to refine its statement to make it clear that this is unacceptable conduct for the leader of a democracy.
