  1. Samuel says:

oto. Her intentions obviously mean well and WE should be proud of the recognition WE have received.

    • Otto Waldmann says:

      sorry Samuel

I expect a lot more commonsense, discretion and specific consideration for our tribullations cause by the same palestinians from a Prime Minister. It is not for her or anyone else to “recognise” the Jewish community. The kind of patronising stuff yoiu suggest is undignified !!!

  2. David says:

    Oh Rita and Otto,
    Give her a break!
Australia abstained in the vote, which is far far less important than the Hasbarah maddies made out. They were setting up an excuse for Netanyahu’s next vote buying stunt.
When Israel sees a vote with three real countries and 6 small islands opposed, 41 abstaining and 138 in favor, it might be time to stop the “They are all anti-Semites and hate us.” self-indulgent whingeing and look at what is really happening.
It’s as stupid as saying “I didn’t make the University Football Team because I’m Jewish” when the truth is that at 5’6″ and weighing 200lbs with glasses the concept of waddling down the middle of the ground was the priority.
If something is wrong, fix it. Don’t just bleat anti-Semitism.
    Shabbat shalom.

  3. Otto Waldmann says:

Good manners compel me to be gracious when someone is considerate enough to address me a message of good wishes on my cellebrations.
BUT this is a Jewish festival, something pertaining to the Jewish folk, their traditions etc. What on earth have the palestinians got to do with being mentioned in our “good wishes”. Where is the common sense, sensibility in whishing THEM something that pertains ONLY to the Jewish people.
There is a time and place for being “all embracing “, BUT this is not the time for us to embrace those who STILL harbour nothing but hatred for everything Jewish.
WHO NEEDS A POLITICAL STATEMENT, “EVEN HANDED” ON A SPECIFIC NON POLITICAL OCCASION !!!
Can’t Julia Gillard talk normal for a change !!??

And some idiots still persist that PM Gillard is a……………friend of Israel !!!

  4. Shirlee. says:

  5. “I join the Jewish community..” If you want “two states” you join the ‘palestinians’. They want two states. The state of ‘palestine’, and the state of destruction for Israel.

  6. Rita says:

So, Prime Minister, why – if you are hoping for a “durable settlement and peace through direct negotiations between the two parties” – have you and your government taken the Pontius Pilate way out during the affront to Israel that happened recently at the UN?
